Administrators and accounts

Create the initial owner, assign project administrators and maintain account access.

Bootstrap the first administrator#

Complete database migration first. Use the hidden password prompt in installation, then run scripts/bootstrap-owner.ts against the intended database. Bootstrap creates the username admin, stores a password hash, and leaves projects and agents empty. The password must be 16-128 characters. Choose the password during bootstrap; administrators create subsequent accounts.

Bootstrap refuses an existing account or owner state. Use My account for a normal change and recovery for a lost owner password.

Roles#

Action Platform administrator Project administrator
Create projects Yes No
View and administer projects All projects in the workspace Assigned projects only
Manage agents, pairings and records Yes Within assigned projects
Create or edit administrators Yes No
Update own profile and password Yes Yes

A project administrator receives broad administration of assigned projects. Grant that access only when appropriate.

Add an administrator#

  1. Open Administration in the lower sidebar.
  2. Choose the create action and enter a name, unique username and initial password.
  3. Choose Platform or Project. A Project administrator must have at least one assigned project.
  4. Supply your current password to authorize the account change.
  5. Save, then have the new administrator sign in and verify the project list.

Usernames contain 3-64 lowercase letters, numbers, dots, underscores or hyphens and begin with a letter or number. Passwords contain 16-128 characters. The service limits account mutations to ten per minute per acting user.

Change or disable access#

Edit the role, assigned projects, active state or password in Administration. Changing another account invalidates that account's existing sessions. The original workspace administrator must remain active and retain Platform access. The service prevents you from disabling or downgrading your own access through this path.

Under My account, change your name, username or password with your current password. A password change requires a new sign-in. Keep recovery access under organizational control; back up account data and recovery material separately.
